As a big fan of both Samsung Galaxy S4 and Google
Nexus 4 I could not resist the temptation to write another article and
try to predict our near future. It really looks like both sides are
working hard on their new products and the internet is full of rumours
of what parameters they could potentially have.
I will review the main specifications of the potential flagman of Samsung first. And this is, of course, Galaxy S5.
This beast is going to be equipped with a
5.3-inch OLED YOUM screen, which is slightly larger than its predecessor
(5 inches). For my personal liking it is slightly too big and some
people with smaller hands might have problems with reaching the top of
the screen. This smartphone is receiving a 2GHz Exynos 5 Octa core CPU
and also 3GB of RAM along with a 16MP camera at the rear of the body
(currently under development) and a 2MP camera at the front for quick
self-snaps. The body is likely to be made of aluminium with a 3200mAh
battery inside. It also seems that Samsung is going to go for a more
modern and expensive looking design.
We are expecting to see the new Samsung Galaxy S5 in spring 2014. It is
also predicted that it will be more costly than the S4.
Not too bad for a start. What about the Google Nexus 5?
Google Nexus 5 is likely to have a 5.2-inch OLED display, a 2.3GHz
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor which is slightly faster
than its opponent and 3GB of RAM which is quite comparable to its rival
from Samsung. There have been more and more pictures and videos of Nexus
5 appearing online, so check it out if you are curious to see how it
might look like. According to current opinions this phone is getting a
16MP camera as well.
It is currently predicted that the new Nexus 5 will cost around £350,
which is reasonable, however, not really comparable to its brother Nexus
4, which has been selling for a surprising £159.
So which one is a better option? Nobody really knows yet. All we can do at the moment is be patient and wait.
